The Rancho Cordova Police Department will host a seminar on “Gangs — Intervention Strategies to Protect Youth” this coming Thursday, June 20, at Cordova High School Gymnasium in Rancho Cordova.

The event is intended to educate parents and other community members in an effort to protect young people from the dangers of criminal street gangs. Parents will learn how to identify if their child may be involved in a gang by learning about gang identifiers, symbols, clothing and which gangs are active in our communities. Parents will also receive information about alternative resources such as PAL (Police Activities League) and other after-school programs.

The seminar will take place Thursday, June 20 from 7-9pm at the Cordova High School Gymnasium, 2239 Chas Drive, in Rancho Cordova. Admission to the event is free.
