Sen. Kamala Harris rallied union leaders Monday night at a labor dinner honoring state legislators, where she received an ecstatic reception from what could be a crucial ally in her effort to win the largest presidential primary in the country.

“This is a moment that is requiring us to fight for the best of who we are. And who but labor knows how to fight?” Harris, D-Calif., told the crowd in remarks that broadly echoed her standard stump speech.

Harris is hoping that delegate-rich California — which moved up its 2020 primary from June to Super Tuesday in March — will provide an early boost to her presidential bid.
