Auditions for State Fair YOUTH CHOIR. Open Call for 2008 California State Fair Youth Choir Back by popular demand, the California State Fair Youth Choir is having an open call for musicians, choir directors and voice coaches. Choir participation is voluntary and everyone is accepted! The State Fair Youth Choir will perform at the 2008 Multicultural Gospel Celebration on Aug. 30 on the Golden1 Stage at Cal Expo. The first meeting will be held Saturday, July 12 at 11 a.m. with subsequent rehearsals each week through Aug. 30. Taking place at Cal Expo, 1600 Exposition Blvd, in Sacramento. Enter through the Lot D entrance off Exposition Blvd. and follow the signs. Small, big, short and tall are invited to join the State Fair Youth Choir.

2008 Youth Summit at St. Paul Baptist Church, 3996 14th Avenue in the Oak Park area of Sacramento. Focusing on theme: “Taking Care of Business”. Registration begins at 7 am on both Fri-7/11 and Sat-7/12 and events start at 9 am. $6 for 13-17 years and $10 for 18-25 years. Featuring Gospel Rapp Artist, “Flame” where you can learn more about the business side of the music industry. Featuring former NBA player Lawrence Funderburke where you can learn the business side of the NBA. Featuring former NFL player Shawn Harper where you can learn about the business side of the NFL. This is an EVENT where you need to TEXT or e-mail your friends to attend. Activities include break out sessions such as basketball and video game tournaments. For all of you young, aspiring actors out there, Celebration Arts Theater Company will be holding their “Teen Magic†summer workshop now through 8-30-This is for teens ages 12-19 and you will learn the beginning techniques of acting, producing, directing, stage management, lights and sound technician.
