The Congress of African Peoples (CAP) invites you to participate, endorse, and to support the 3rd Annual Black Political Convention to be held prior to the 2012 Presidential Election. The convention will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at the Women’s Civic Improvement Center, 3555 3rd Ave., in historic Oak Park, Sacramento, CA, from 9am-5pm.

In preparation for the Convention, the next meeting for those interested in building the Convention will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 10am at the SABC’s office in Oak Park, 4413 18th Avenue. For more information, call 916-453-0665.

The purpose of the convention is to stimulate Black participation in politics and elections, including the primary election. As 2012 is a presidential election year, their intention is to jumpstart Black involvement in politics throughout the year. They intend the convention to stimulate Black voter registration, Black campaign involvement, Black candidacies for office, and Black voting. The convention will serve to inform the local Black population about offices, candidacies, ballot measures, and to lead to maximum involvement of Black people in the political process. Representatives of the various presidential campaigns, city council campaigns, school board campaigns, assembly campaigns, senate campaigns, congressional campaigns, and ballot measures will be present.
