Obama Presidential Center Opens in Chicago with Historic Dedication Ceremony
Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama officially dedicated the new Obama Presidential Center on Chicago’s South Side on June 18. The $850 million campus serves as a museum, community gathering space, public library hub, and educational center designed to inspire civic engagement and leadership for future generations. The opening drew thousands of visitors, community leaders, celebrities, and former U.S. presidents.
The celebration featured remarks from the Obamas, musical performances by nationally known artists, and appearances by former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden.
