Sacramento Native Akeallah Blair’s Directorial Debut “The Erasure” Premieres on Aspire TV

Sacramento is beaming with pride as hometown talent Akeallah Blair celebrates the cable television premiere of her award-winning film The Erasure on Aspire TV, which debuted October 14, 2025.
Now based in Los Angeles, Blair’s career has been steadily on the rise since earning her degree in Film and Television from the University of Southern California as a Bill and Melinda Gates Scholar. Her powerful film The Erasure spotlights the often-overlooked epidemic of missing Black and Brown women in the U.S.—a theme that has resonated deeply with audiences nationwide. The film has already earned three grand prizes and six official selections, and previously premiered on 20th Century Fox’s Fox Soul TV before landing on Comcast.
On social media, Blair shared her excitement:
“Today is the day! My baby, my first film straight outta film school is having its cable TV premiere! … This is a momentous occasion and huge accomplishment for my career.”
