Study: Black Americans More Likely to Develop High Blood Pressure

A new study has found genes that are tied to high blood pressure in black Americans, according to an article on Medline Plus.

According to the article, black Americans are more likely to develop high blood pressure than white Americans, and genes account for 40-50 percent of a person’s risk for high blood pressure, or hypertension.
