WEREYOU THERE! Mayor Kevin Johnson celebrated 1st year accomplishments of “Any Given Child”. On October 18, 2011, Fairbanks Elementary School was thrilled to host Mayor Kevin Johnson, as he celebrated the first year accomplishments of “Any Given Child,” a program created by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to provide arts education and arts experiences for schools. Twin Rivers, along with Sacramento City were the first local districts to launch the Any Given Child program. K-8 students in 36 area classrooms are receiving hands-on-arts education experiences while teachers are given access to supplemental lessons through the Kennedy Center. Read more
