February is a powerful time to honor heritage, amplify voices, and celebrate the cultural impact of the African Diaspora — and University of the Pacific in Stockton is hosting a dynamic series of Black History Month events that bring community, culture, conversation, and creativity together! 

🎉 What’s Happening This February:
Black History Month Kickoff Celebration – Join music, performances, culture, and connection as we launch the month with joy, reflection, and pride. 
Engaging Speaker Sessions – Hear from influential voices including top NBA insider Chris Haynes and inspiring panel discussions like Black Voices: Controlling the Narrative — diving into media, leadership, representation, and activism.
Musical Highlights – Experience live performances from Pacific Winds Band and Pacific’s Jazz Ensemble featuring Grammy-nominated pianist Orrin Evans
Film & Dialogue Events – Attend screenings like John Burris: Godfather of Police Litigation followed by Q&A with civil rights pioneers and filmmakers. 
Community Health & Wellness Fair – A chance for free screenings, health education, and resources in partnership with Progressive Community Church & Abbott Fund Future Well. 

These events are not only celebrations — they’re opportunities to learn, connect, and honor the contributions of Black leaders, artists, activists, and thinkers who continue to shape our communities and culture.
