Bishop Parnell M. Lovelace, Jr. Appointed Interim President of Jessup University
Sac Cultural Hub is proud to celebrate and uplift the exciting news that Bishop Parnell M. Lovelace, Jr., Senior Pastor of Center of Praise Ministries, has been appointed Interim President of Jessup University. As a longtime friend of Bishop Lovelace and his family—and through our many years of partnering with him and Center of Praise Ministries on numerous community initiatives—I, Pleshette Robertson, am especially honored to share this milestone with our readers.
Bishop Lovelace steps into this leadership role following the transition of Dr. John Jackson, who will now serve as Chancellor. A respected figure in both faith and academic circles, Bishop Lovelace has served Jessup University as the Vice President of Community and brings an extensive background in higher education, community service, and ministry leadership. His academic credentials, including a Ph.D. and Doctor of Ministry, along with decades of service to the Sacramento community, uniquely position him to guide Jessup into its next era of mission-centered excellence.
“I am deeply humbled and honored… As I accept the role of Interim President, I look forward to serving strategically with our stellar faculty and staff, providing academic excellence to our students,” Bishop Lovelace shared. “I look forward to continuing to lead our great church family, while guiding Jessup University in a continuous and positive impact on our region, nation, and world.”
