Fifth Annual Solidarity Summit on Homelessness

Sacramento — The Fifth Annual Solidarity Summit on Homelessness is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, from 10 am to 4:00 pm at Fruitridge Community Collaborative (FRCC), 4625 44th St, Sacramento, CA 95820Our theme is “This Is What Organizing Looks Like.”

This all-day event provides a space for the movement to gather, network, and strategize about organizing – focusing on the right to housing, stability, and health in all its dimensions.

Sacramento Homeless Organizing Committee (SHOC), Sacramento Poor People’s Campaign (PPC), and the Black Parallel School (BPSB), along with many other community-based organizations.

We will stand against the ongoing genocide in Palestine, the war against Iran, and with oppressed people all over the world who bear the brunt of US militarism and aggression, as in the Sudan, Congo, and Haiti.

Our morning program will include poetry, music, raffles, and “tabletops” of community organizations who will brainstorm and report on the Solidarity Summit’s theme. Our afternoon program will include showers and haircuts.

Safe Ground Sacramento, the Sacramento Valley Tenants Union, Wood Street Oakland, Hope Cooperative, Community Lead Advocacy Program (CLAP), Sacramento Poor People’s Campaign/SHOC Black Hygiene and Hair Project, and Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) are now confirmed as “tabletop” participants!
